People are having sex at much younger ages but marrying at much later ages. So we see that Satan seeks to distort the concept of marriage.
One of the major biblical reasons to marry is so you can have sex without guilt.
Get to know the other person as much as possible, pray and get people around you to pray along with you.
When you are convinced the person is the one, say it. Don't beat around the bush especially as a man so someone else doesn't come and propose and you tell the lady late when she has accepted them.
During the time of courtship; pray together, discuss the word of God together.
Researchers say marriage is 85% communication. If something goes wrong with communication, it will go wrong with every other area.
If you start your communication from the spiritual level is likely you will get it right in every other level.
Discuss your dreams together, discuss your values together and begin to discuss the values for this new family you're about to begin.
How many kids do we want? What kind of lifestyle do we want to live? What kind of career do we need to pursue to make that possible?
Do we need to start a business? Will someone hold a job while the other person is in business? How will we run our finances?
It's best to make the decisions ahead so when the circumstances come you've already equipped to take care of it with your laid down joint-policy.
How will you relate with your parents and siblings (in-law matters)?
Develop intimacy
As you do all these, note down on record everything needed for the wedding preparations.
From booking the venue to discussing with family, to sewing suit and gown, cake, drinks, food, catering, invitation card, a programme for the service etc.
Set timelines and costs for these items.
These help towards you not being frantic and anxious on the actual day of the wedding.
