1.) They skip building friendship and go straight to dating

- Eliminate things that can hinder closeness (jumping too quickly into wedding plans, sex etc.)
- Do a proper assessment of your friendship (ask yourself how well do you know this person)
2.) Not having clarity (Proverbs 29:18) - know where you are going; have a vision. Know what kind of relationship you are going into. Define things, don't make assumptions, ask clear questions.

3.) Not having mentors Proverbs 31:1

- List the areas you think a mentor can help your relationship
- Who are the potential mentors around you? List them
4.) Having sex before marriage (1 Corinthians 16:19)

- Decide what you want and why (i.e. saving sex till marriage)
- Set clear boundaries (e.g. no more kissing, meeting in private etc.)
5.) Waiting to have all the money before proceeding toward marriage (1 Timothy 6:17). Learn to see God as your source; not money.
Having a job is enough, move in faith.

- Both of you should agree on what you want to do for your wedding.
- Ask what little steps you can start to take and take them.
- Have a financial plan. Talk to experts if necessary.
6.) Playing house - Becoming live-in lovers (Proverbs 25:17)

- Follow proven dating guidelines as prescribed by the bible.
7.) They don't do pre-marital counselling (Proverbs 15:22, Proverbs 11:14)

- Look for a good counselling service around you
- Be willing to do whatever it takes to attend counselling ( sacrifice money and time).
